WOCA receives donations (issuing receipts for all donations) and from these pays the operating costs of the Home. The Home is funded from 4 sources:
The New Zealand Wine & Food Festival in HCMC was set up in 2000 to showcase NZ wine and food (when Celia was the New Zealand Trade Commissioner). Each year the event generates a profit, some of which is allocated to the Ba Chieu Home.
New Zealand individuals, businesses and others wanting to help Vietnam give donations and sponsorships to the Home.
Celia does guest speaking engagements in New Zealand and donates speaker’s fees and a gold coin donation from each audience.
Products are sold to raise funds. The girls make silk sleeping bag liners and cloth carry bags in their sewing room which are sold in New Zealand and Vietnam. Celia has also created 3 products the profits from which go to fund the Home.
